IQNA – One should avoid exacerbating differences and, instead, focus on fostering dialogue among young Muslims centered around the teachings of the Quran and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), an Iraqi scholar said.

Hojat-ol-Islam Hashem Abu Khamsayn, an Al-Mustafa International University professor, made the remark in an interview at the 32nd Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition.

He added that promoting the concept of Mahdism and belief in the savior can also play a significant role in creating unity among young Muslims.

Asked how one can draw inspiration from the Holy Quran to solve the problems of the Islamic Ummah, he emphasized that to address the issues facing the Muslim Ummah, one must refer to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the history of early Islam.

At the beginning of the Prophet’s (PBUH) mission, the Muslim community faced numerous crises and challenges from the great powers of that time, he said, noting that, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) overcame these difficulties through two key principles: faith in Almighty God and adherence to the Quran and the word of God.

If the Muslim Ummah remain committed to these two criteria, resolving problems and difficulties would be possible, he stated.

Muslims should also give priority to Tawakkul (putting trust in God) and strive to strengthen unity and avoid discord, he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Hojat-ol-Islam Abu Khamsayn referred to Quranic activities in Iraq during the holy month of Ramadan, saying that among these activities are Quran sessions and recitation gatherings held in mosques and Husseiniyahs (religious centers), where people come together to recite and listen to the Quran.

He added that special sessions are also organized for teenagers, during which they recite parts of the Quran and instructors present correct their recitation mistakes and at the end of these sessions, a portion of the recited verses is explained.

Another special activity in Iraq is the ceremony known as “Laylat al-Tasdiq”, which takes place on the last two nights of the holy month of Ramadan he noted.

“During these nights, people gather in mosques to complete the Quran reading. They then intend to dedicate the reward of this Quran completion to the souls of their deceased loved ones. These nights are devoted to prayers, supplications, and Quran recitation until dawn.”

He said that Quran competitions and recitation sessions featuring prominent reciters with Egyptian styles and other Quranic methods are also part of the Ramadan Quran programs in Iraq.
